How To Increase PageRank Quickly

In this article you are going to learn how to increase your Google PageRank quickly. This is adapted from a short PDF eBook I wrote at the start of 2013, which I was going to release as a list building giveaway. However, I just can’t be bothered tweaking it any more, so what you’re seeing here is the raw product. It’s the story of the exact methods I used to get this humble site to a Google PageRank of 3 in only a few scant months. There will be mistakes, there will be references to things that might not exist, and there will be excitement… coming now to a screen near you.

Preface – How To Increase Google PageRank

This is going to be a short guide – I’m not here to waffle on for dozens of pages to lure you into the illusion that you’re getting more bang for your buck (while actually delivering less). No, this is an actionable plan that fits into less than 5 pages (including illustrations) that will show you the exact method I used to get first page rankings AND an almost unbelievable Google PageRank of 3 in under four months.

What you’re about to learn will shock you with its simplicity, and probably frustrate you once you realize how much time you’ve been wasting on your SEO and link-building.

About The Site

The site I set up in September 2012 is called Internet Marketing Training for Newbies (http://www.internet-marketing-training-for-newbies.info)

Here’s the dope on this site:

  • I used a virgin, unregistered domain name (so no residual PR from an aged domain)
  • It is a WordPress-hosted blog running Mark Ling’s Premium AffiloTheme – check out AffiloTheme for yourself here
  • I’m hosting using Affilorama Premium hosting
  • As the name suggests, the blog is in the MMO/Internet marketing niche, with a specific focus on newbies
  • As of 16/01/2013 (or 01/16/2013 if you’re an American) here’s my Pagerank score – as calculated by the new Affilorama Premium Affilotools:
  • AffiloTools shows 14 backlinks – the real number is probably around 100, but no backlink counting software is accurate.

I got to number one in Google for “Internet Marketing Training For Newbies” by November 2012

I haven’t sent a penny’s worth of paid traffic to the site

I’m currently getting around 50 visitors per day average (some days over 100, other days around 20) from organic SEO traffic. That’s not a massive number BUT the traffic is very targeted and each visitor spends an average of 2.5 minutes on my site, which is good for such a crowded niche.

I’m monetizing through Clickbank products, Aweber affiliate program, selling my own article writing service (email sam@internet-marketing-training-for-newbies.info if you want more information about that) as well as selling my deluxe Keyword Research Redux guide through JV Zoo. So far, I’ve made about $1000 through this blog – not bad considering I only spend about 4 to 5 hours per week maintaining it.

Now you know the details of my blog, let’s get down to the nitty gritty and have a look at my blueprint for Google PR3 in under 4 months:

The Zero To Hero System Laid Bare

The Zero to Hero system revolves around three main cornerstones:

  • High quality content with a reader focus
  • Backlinks from authority niche leaders
  • Strong and deep internal linking

I have completely eschewed mass-scale link building, duplicate or spun or syndicated content, or any form of “spammy practice”.

So, how do you put the system into action on your site?

First, you need to start with the content

Content Guide

At the very heart of my PR and rankings success for this site is the fact that I provide awesome content to my readers (both casual browsers and list subscribers). If you want to rank well in the post-Panda and Penguin world, then you had better deliver in terms of content. Here’s what you need to do:

When you first create your site, plan out 10 different blog post/article topics based on 10 LONG-TAIL keywords. Go for keywords that will be relatively easy to rank for (it’s just a hunch, but my evidence suggests that you rank better in Google if you go after the long phrase keywords before turning your attention to 3 or 4 word keywords)

Write these 10 blog posts/articles.

The rules are:

  • They must be at least 500-600 words of unique content
  • They should be highly informative (not just straight-up review content)
  • Feature your keyword in the article title, once in the first two paragraphs, and once in the conclusion
  • You cannot spin, duplicate, or copy other content
  • Write clear and concise paragraphs
  • No more than 2 affiliate links per article
  • Using natural/LSI keywords in your article where possible OR invert your keyword.

Post these ten articles one per every two days (So post one article, then approximately 48 hours later post the next one, and so on). At this stage you don’t need to do anything but posting articles.

Once you’ve got the initial ten articles/posts up (this will be around day 21/22/23 of your website’s life, depending on how quickly you can write) it’s time to move to phase two of the content posting schedule.

Content Phase 2:

You’ve now got the initial batch of ten articles/posts on your site. These are the ones that are gonna get your website indexed by Google. However, you won’t get anywhere with just ten posts

You’re going to be padding out your content with two main types of articles – 500> word “mini articles” and >500 word “main content pieces”.

Mini articles can be: Short product reviews, niche news updates, random musings (keyword optimized, of course) reviews of YouTube videos, or genuinely informative content.
Main content pieces are: Full length articles that really teach something or expose a topic.
Each week you need to add two mini articles and one main content piece to your website.

Remember that fresh, original content is CRUCIAL for good search rankings.

Continue with this posting schedule until you’ve got your rankings and PR climbing.

Once you’re seeing progress, cut down to one main content piece or two mini articles per week.

Ensure comments are enabled on your WordPress blog – but for heaven’s sake install an anti-spam plugin. I recommend Akismet or similar.

Encourage readers to comment on your blog, and respond to every comment you receive. This builds naturally evolving content, which Google loves

Spark artificial comments on your blog posts for more content. Get either a Fiverr blog comment posting gig (like this one) or recruit your friends and family to post meaningful comments. There’s no golden number here, but the more natural-looking comments you generate, the better.

“Hack” spam comments to your blog. If you get one of those generic “thanks for the post your site is great” comments, you can follow this little method to hack it for bonus dynamic content:

  • Edit the comment to remove the link to the spam site
  • Change the commenter name to something realistic (so “cheap Cialis” becomes “James Davidson” or something similar)
  • Add a few more personalized words to the blog comment to make it look like it is genuinely from someone interested in your content.

Embed YouTube videos – preferably your own – and rich image media into your posts wherever possible.

Link-Building Time

You’ve now got the content sorted on your blog, so this brings us to the ideal moment for starting link building. Here’s the EXACT blueprint I used to get Internet Marketing Training for Newbies ranking like a champ (and don’t forget that awesome PR of 3):

Ensure your site has been indexed by Google before commencing link building – this is super important. If you haven’t been indexed yet, keep adding fresh content and WAIT. Patience is key here.

Identify ten established blogs in your niche. You are going to contact these blogs for guest posting opportunities.

They MUST fulfil these criteria:

  • Blog/website is at least two years old
  • Regular readership (a good sign of this is whether the posts on the blog receive any social shares or likes)
  • High-quality informational blogs – no link farms, spam ridden hell-holes or similar
  • Must have established Pagerank
  • Links must be do-follow

Continue researching and contacting new blogs until you have ten high quality links pointing to your site.

For the next two weeks, comment on five relevant blog posts per day (using Your Name@ Your Keyword eg Sam@Internet Marketing Training) on any high ranking blogs in your niche.

For the next two weeks, post in at least five relevant niche forums with a signature link back to your site. Make two posts per day, per blog – more if you’ve got the time.

Once this phase is done, it’s time to move into “external link maintenance mode”. This involves:

For three out of every four weeks of the month, link build with regular blog commenting and forum posting. Seek out new guest posting opportunities.

In the final week of the month, fulfil those new guest posting opportunities. One guest post per month minimum – two or three is ideal.

Continue with this link building routine until you see your rankings improve and your PageRank increase.

For faster, better results, supplement with the link building action plans I have provided you.

Internal Linking For Optimal Results

Strong internal linking is essential for getting good rankings with your site. When building an affiliate website (or any form of website that sells products) the temptation is always there to simply make every link on every page an outbound link to an affiliate product or program. However, that’s not very good SEO practice.

Here’s how to do your internal linking:

  • Link each new post/article to a previous piece of content
  • You don’t need to follow any set structure here, but each article should ideally link to one or two other posts you have made in the past
  • Don’t link in a linear fashion (ie post 3 links to post 2 which links to post 1 – you want to make it a natural internal link structure)
  • Always link using relevant anchor text (don’t use “Click here” but actually link with keyword phrases)

Link to the most relevant pages possible

Is that really all?

100% truthfully, that is the exact method I used to get Internet Marketing Training for Newbies ranking on the first page for many long-tail keywords, as well as that lucrative PageRank of 3. This whole process took me less than four months, and I haven’t had to work more than 30 minutes per day on the site.

If you follow this exact blueprint, it will work for you. Here’s why:

  • You’re consistently adding fresh, original content to your website
  • You are encouraging visitor interaction, which will reduce your bounce rate, boost return visitors, and make your site look more “organic”
  • The bulk of your link juice is going to come from high-quality guest posting links
  • Forum and blog comment provide decent bulk links, and also drive referral traffic
  • There’s nothing spammy or automated her
  • Follow this action plan to the letter
  • DO NOT STOP ADDING CONTENT TO YOUR SITE – this is the crucial one
  • Traditional affiliate marketing or selling your own info/physical products will work well
  • You could also profit handsomely by reselling your site on Flippa, especially if you’ve got a PR 2/3 site getting 100+ visitors per day.

Conclusion

Remember – you need to work hard at this SEO stuff until you see results. Keep plugging away every day, and eventually you’ll make it!
